Ghosted is a modern rendering of the Telephone booth. The traditional boxed nature of the telephone booth exists to provide privacy. In other words, the only architectural element is its privacy, as the phone can exist outside of the booth and function by itself. The layered surfaces suggests a human shape void that becomes concentrated as it approach the face, ultimately blurring the individual’s identity while still suggesting their existence. In the time of social media and increasingly vague identies, people are no longer either stranger or friend-they become somewhere in-between.
